Empowerment Sessions from a Boudoir Photographer’s Point of View

You always hear me talk about ladies and their difference experiences during their boudoir session. I wanted to switch it up and tell you about Jess’s boudoir empowerment session from my point of view. Believe me when I say, I get JUST as excited about a session as you do!

Jess had messaged me probably close to a half-a-dozen times before finally selecting a date on the calendar and coming in for a session, all of her own. When she finally booked her session, she was turning 30 and wanted to do something that she wouldn't normally do. She wanted to "see" herself as sexy and see herself in a way that her boyfriend saw her as. She was a mom who struggled with her tummy areas and had the usually “I’m just a mom” feeling going on. You know the one. The one where you feel like your entire identity is no longer about you. That’s exactly why she took the leap for her boudoir session!

So, the big day arrives, and Jess walks in, exclaiming, "OMG, I'm so nervous, I could puke!" Trust me, I hear this all the time. We warmly welcomed her, took her belongings, showed her the fabulous wardrobe options we had available in our Client Wardrobe, and walked her through how the day would unfold. Then, without any hesitation, we jumped right in!

With her favorite tunes playing in the background, we guided her into the initial poses (after demonstrating them ourselves, of course). I LOVE showing sneak peek at the back of the camera during the shoot, because this way, they can truly grasp how stunning they look in that very moment. As Jess saw her first few poses, her nerves melted away, her smile brightened, and the fun really began!

By the end of our session, Jess was radiating pure joy. I'm not just talking about a simple smile and a 'thank you.' I mean a full-on, "I can't believe I did that! I look like a million bucks! When can I schedule my next session?!" kind of glow.

This, my friends, is why I do what I do. THIS is what makes each and every session so incredibly special, magical, and unforgettable! I love being a Sioux Falls boudoir photographer!
